KLEE Application: Documents and Mistakes That Get Results Withheld

Updated 2 November 2026 by the faculty of Mentors Law Entrance Coaching Centre, Ernakulam. Rules can change every year – confirm in the KLEE 2027 prospectus at cee.kerala.gov.in.

In 2026 the KLEE application window was very short – the notification came out on 9 June and registration closed on 17 June, with the exam on 28 June. When the rank list was published, CEE Kerala withheld the results of 413 candidates until they corrected defects in their applications. Most of these problems can be avoided by getting documents ready early.

Documents to keep ready (KLEE 2026 list)

  • Proof of nationality and nativity
  • Date of birth proof – SSLC certificate, birth certificate or passport
  • Recent passport-size colour photograph and your signature (scanned)
  • Non-creamy layer certificate – for SEBC/OEC reservation
  • Community certificate – OEC candidates; SC/ST community certificate from the competent authority
  • EWS certificate, if applicable
  • Income certificate – for fee concession
  • PwD certificate or UDID card, if applicable
  • Certificates for special reservations, and the inter-caste marriage certificate where applicable

Certificates such as non-creamy layer, EWS and income take time to get from the village or taluk office – apply for them in April or May, before the notification.

Application fee (2026)

Rs 950 for General/SEBC and Rs 450 for SC/ST/PwD, paid online. The fee is not refundable.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Unclear or old photo, or a signature in capitals – upload a clear, recent photo and your usual signature.
  • Name or date of birth not matching the SSLC certificate – type them exactly as in the SSLC book.
  • Claiming a reservation without a valid certificate – the certificate must be in the prescribed format and issued by the right authority; otherwise the claim may not be accepted.
  • Choosing the wrong course – the 5-year and 3-year LLB have separate applications and separate exam sessions.
  • Not checking the portal after the exam – defects are listed in the candidate portal, and in 2026 the correction window closed on 19 July. Log in after the answer key and again after the rank list.
  • Leaving it to the last day – the server gets slow near the deadline; submit early and save the confirmation page.

After the rank list, the next step is option registration – see the KLEE admission process.
