CLAT 2027 – Common Law Admission Test

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admission to the 5-year integrated LLB programmes of the National Law Universities (NLUs), including NUALS Kochi.

The Consortium has confirmed there is no change in the syllabus and pattern for CLAT 2027. Questions are based on reading passages, so comprehension speed matters as much as knowledge.
Eligibility and fee
- Class 12 or equivalent with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST); students appearing for Class 12 in 2027 can apply.
- No upper age limit.
- Application fee: Rs. 4,000 (General / OBC / NRI), Rs. 3,500 (SC / ST / BPL / PwD).
Colleges
CLAT scores are used by 24+ National Law Universities – among them NLSIU Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata and NUALS Kochi – with over 3,000 UG seats in the 2026 cycle. Many private law colleges also accept CLAT scores. NLU Delhi does not use CLAT; it holds its own exam, AILET.
