A Kerala student aiming for law can write several entrance exams in one season. Here is the calendar for admission in 2027, with what is confirmed and what is expected from last year's pattern.
The calendar
| Exam | For | Key dates | Status |

| CUSAT CAT 2027 | School of Legal Studies, CUSAT | Apply around late Jan – early Mar 2027; exam around May; rank list around June | Expected (2026 pattern) |
| MH CET Law | Maharashtra law colleges | Applications usually open around January; exam usually April–May | Expected |

How to plan
- December is the national season. CLAT, AILET and SLAT fall within three weeks. If you registered for them, keep your preparation going through December.
- Don't miss CUSAT's early deadline. CUSAT CAT applications close around March – long before KLEE – and missing the window means no CUSAT seat that year.
- KLEE comes last and moves fast. In 2026 the KLEE registration window was only about a week. Keep your certificates ready from April (documents checklist).
- One preparation, many exams. English, legal reasoning, GK and current affairs are common to all of them. The main extras are logical reasoning for AILET and CUSAT, and Kerala GK and legal aptitude depth for KLEE.
Which ones should a Kerala student write?
| If you want… | Write |

| Government Law College in Kerala | KLEE |
| School of Legal Studies, CUSAT | CUSAT CAT |
| NUALS Kochi or another NLU | CLAT |
| NLU Delhi | AILET |
| A private law school outside Kerala | SLAT, MH CET Law, or the school's own test |
Most Kerala aspirants write at least KLEE and CUSAT CAT, and many add CLAT. Compare them side by side on KLEE vs CLAT vs CUSAT CAT.
